THE KISSING HAND - a great book for children going off to kindergarten or even to preschool. 

OWL BABIES - this book comes in all sizes from board books to big books.  It's one of our favorites for our 2 year olds, especially those who are separating from their mothers for the first time.  The children really relate to "Bill" when he cries, "I want my momma!"
